In case anyone on this thread is wondering.
They can be removed. Here is a bit of an "on/off" image.
Four hex bolts per side, different size to the what you can use the Jeep toolkit for.
13/32s I think.

Edit: fixed my typo.

Where can I get that yellow hood, it appears different from the American rubicon hood
Thats the hood/bonnet we get standard in Australia. I believe same as Europe. It is steel, not aluminum. So both design and material are different. Not sure where you would pick up the steel hood in the states.

None whatsoever. I can take a photo of the location of the four bolts so you can ensure you remove the right ones :) I just bolted them back into place after removing the plastic. That way I won't lose them.

That would be awesome. I'm expected to pick my long await JLUR next week and this is one of the top things I want to do.

These are the four bolts. They are hex bolts 13/32s. take the four off from each side, remove the plastic and bolt them back in for safekeeping.

Thanks for that. It looks like that wiring is exposed. Have you had any issues with that not being covered or protected?

Not at all, that wiring is pretty exposed even with the plastic plate. If you know you will never put it back on, you can take the plate off, mark and cut it down to give you the gap and then bolt it back on covering the back of the wires... it won't be any more waterproof but it might help prevent the accumulation of gunk over time....

When I wash my Jeep I tend to clean every nook and cranny every 2nd or 3rd wash so that does not bother me at all...

Belated Merry Christmas.

Have you removed the black tow hook covers on your front steel bumper?

Was it difficult to remove?

Any tools required for the front tow hook cap removal?
