I bought a set of rubicon take offs and went to swap. They said the tpms sensor wouldn’t work with my JL for some reason. It wouldn’t read it.

Is that normal that unlimited and rubicon have different sensors maybe?

I bought these used and the guy was going to throw the tires on an f150. So maybe he did something.

Are these JL Rubicon or JK Rubicon? If they are JL and the sensors are still in the wheel and not damaged they should work just fine. I suggest just putting them on the Jeep and drive around the block, the Jeep will tell you right away if it sees the TPMS's. If you get warnings in the dash you will have to look into them further.

More likely he took the TPMS out of the stock wheels and put them in his new ones. The wheels I bought had exactly that done to them.

In this case, do you take the sensors off your original tires and put them into the take offs?
