Can shocks from a Rubicon be installed on a Sport JLU, w/a stock suspension, w/o any issues?

I bid for, and won on eBay, a complete set of Rubicon shocks, w/less than 50 miles on them, for just $50.

Thanks!
UPDATE:

For those interested, I've had the Rubicon Shocks on my stock Sport JLU, w/the stock suspension, for well over a year now, and have had no issues at all w/them.

Looks good, how do you like the ride? Notice any difference in power (3.6 or 2.0)?

Jerel, I have a set of springs not installed yet that match these numbers (takeoffs 60/61, 91/92, stock 58/59, 87/88). Curious what your experience was and if you installed a leveling kit as most Rubi takeoff installs I have seen listed don’t have the 91/92 rear springs? I don’t mind the factory rake but with my stock springs it appears the rear might be lifted higher. If I understand correctly, the higher the part number the stiffer the spring (front +2, rear +4).

Also, do you have any before after photos with stock tires by chance? Trying to determine if I will want to time the install with new tires - thanks for any feedback/advice you might have.
My change was +3 front, +4 rear and I did 3/4" spacers front and back. It's good but the back is a bit high as you say. If it were me in your shoes, I would just put a 1/2" spacer on the front and call it a day. That should be a great look for you.

I put the lift on after I'd already put on Rubicon tires so I don't have any before/after with stock tires.

Thanks! Ride is slightly stiffer. But the tires seems to roll over bumps better due the larger diameter. No rubing lots of room. Almost make wish I went with 315's but these look perfect on the Rubicon wheels. Poke out is good too. A little outboard of the fender up front. Just even at the rear. Not loud at all and I had the top down last night. I have the 3.6 V6 and Manual trans. I think third gear and fourth are actually in a more usable mph range now. 6th gear is pretty useless anyway. No difference in power. No need to regear of monkey with the Speedo! It's only 4 mph off at 60. MPG looks to be less than 1 MPG lost. Was at 22.5 before now at 21.7. Tom

Looks great, like those Toyos, on my short list for my next set, and probably the same size or that 35x11.5x17 since both of them are C rated. And the 35s are really a 34.5 as I really don't want a true 35 w/ those sport gears.

This was one of the best projects so far. I'm running Rubicon springs/shocks with RC .75 leveling spacers up front. Also installed Mopar lift LCA's for added caster.

Since, it's my daily driver I went with 265/70/17s to keep mileage and performance similar to factory. However, I will probably go with larger tires once these wear out.

Looks great! Did you install wheel spacers as well?

Thank you! Yes, I installed 1.5" Bora spacers. The perfect stance for my needs.

After lift photo with 245/75 Duelers. Rubicon take off springs 61/62 front and 90/91 rear, 209/210 shocks with Daystar .75 spacers on my Sport S. Got a nice 2.5 front 2.0 rear inch lift. Almost perfectly level front to rear at the lip of the fenders. I also added the Mopar lift front lower control arms.

I just picked up Rubicon springs/shocks and about to do this same mod, along with the .75" spacers. My question is around your Daystar spacers...did you only run them up front in order to eliminate rake, or did you run them front and rear to get an all around 3/4" increase in lift?

Installed Rugged Ridge 3/4" spring spacer in front to bring the front back to level after adding the bumper and winch. Took about 2 hrs since I also rotated my tires while I was down there :)

The Rugged Ridge part # 18360.04 is for the JK but works fine for the JL too.

You must cut off the two rubber orientation prongs on the OEM spring isolators. You need to mark on your bump stop & the spring isolator so you keep it in the same spot when you add the spacers since the isolator is a bit thicker on one end.

Here's a pick of before & after~

Thanks great looking ride. That level look is exactly what I'd like to achieve, but it looks to me like TangoKilo got his leveled, and lifted a bit higher, by adding .75" spacers all the way around and not just up front (I could be wrong but that's how I'm reading his post). I definitely want my JLU to be a bit higher like his...I personally feel the longer 4-doors need that to look right, and not like a limo :) . I may just have to install the Rubicon springs/shocks first and see how it sits, then come back later with the spacers.

Hi All, I used the Daystar 3/4 inch spacers on all four corners. With the springs mentioned above I got a pretty level front to rear balance. On some new rubber toyo open country ATIII'S 285/75 R17 - I'm measuring 39 inches to the bottom lip of my front fender 39 1/4 at the rear measured at the centerline of the wheel. A level on the running boards confirms this. You will like the extra lift the spacers give you. I'm at 3.5 inches higher than stock. I sweated using the spacers even after I had them but I'm very glad I put them in the first time. Tom

Yeah, the Rubicon swap on a 2dr seems to remove most of the rake so it's quite level. After I added 180lbs worth of bumper and winch it dropped the front about 1/2". The 3/4" spacer just for the front got me back to even front to back. This is assuming you're using Rubicon Springs from the heaviest models.

OK, I've got all the parts (including mopar 2" lift LCA's now). One more question on this topic before I get to installing this weekend - I've read that the sway bar links are the same between JL and Rubicon, but do you think it necessary to get longer links w/ addition of the 3/4" spacers?
