Here is another oddball for the list. I have a ‘21 Rubicon we just bought and I crawled under it and found a set of 89/90 in the rear. Since it came with Sahara side steps, I was suspicious someone swapped in their Sahara parts before trading. Nope. I just verified with Benny with Allmoparparts here that my VIN came with 58/59 up front and 89/90 out back. Damn. I thought it looked a smidge low. Our Rubicon is factory equipped with hardtop, tow, and steel bumper, verified with the build sheet.

I bet the parts bin was out of the correct Rubicon springs on the assembly line so they threw in Sahara springs.
Thanks for the numbers, I have added them to that chart.

FYI: the up-to-date version can be found here

It’s the wife’s and she made ME promise to keep it stock…as she now mentions grab handles, carpet protection for the back, and a phone holder. (I’m thinking I can sneak some 67 Designs in that way lol.)
Stock... like original to the Jeep, or just OEM Jeep parts?

In her mind, original to the Jeep. I’ll try to get her to think it was completely her own idea. She’s a smart cookie though and will probably see right through my Jedi mind powers. lol

I think this thread backs up my assessment, but wanted to confirm. I've got a JLUS 2.0 and have added a steel bumper. Rubi takeoffs with 59/60 and 90/91 aren't going to do much for me? I realize the ideal scenario is to get takeoffs from a steel bumper/towing package, but this pair showed up again in my FB feed for $200. Thoughts?

@treoguy

I have the same sahara as you - Check under your current springs - Mine are 58/59 89/90

Order a 61 from allmoparparts ($71), then you'll have 60/61 90/91 . I'm also going to use a 0.5" leveling kit for the front only. (Cost me $32 bucks I think)

(edit: i also have steel bumpers front/rear)

Ok guys new member here with some questions. We have a 2019 Sahara with the power soft top, tow package and V6. It was custom ordered with EVERY available option and we got it with 10,000 miles. I got basically a new (120 miles) rubicon suspension for it for a steal but may have a problem. I would like to do like several others and put the rubicon suspension and also a .75” spacer.
The numbers on our Sahara are as follows:
3658AC FRONT DRIVER
3659AD FRONT PASS
3588AA REAR DRIVER
3589AA REAR PASS

Here are the rubicon numbers:
3658AD
3659AD
3589AA
3590AA
Shocks are 430AB and 434AB

Unfortunately those spring numbers will not provide any lift in front and barely any in the back. Best if you can get +2 or 3 increase from stock spring numbers.

That’s what I was afraid of. I was thinking about using some spacers and the rubicon shocks. Thoughts?

You can most certainly do that. Agree with others that the springs you have won't help you much.....but you should see some improvement with the shocks.....just hard to say how much.

My wife and I both have JLU's. She has the Teraflex leveling kit on hers (2" front, 1.5" rear) with 33's and it looks great!! Mine - I HAD a set of Rubi take-off's also, but just put a lift on mine this past weekend. So I'm eventually going to transfer those take-offs to hers for a bit more lift, and probably put some 35's on there as well.

PS - good to see another Knoxvillian posting on here!!!

There are a number of related posts here -- and also a spreadsheet which gives some of the equipment configurations.

If you are going to change out the shocks, and especially if you are putting in a spacer kit, consider tracking down some springs which are +1 or +2 what you already have since the spacer kit is going to require you to pull the spring.

Rule of thumb seems to be approximately one-quarter to one-half inch for each higher spring number.

My JLU Islander build-out using Rubi takeoffs was 58/59 --> 61/62 & 88/89 --> 91/92 but I had to source 2 of those springs outside of the takeoff. I also added the teraflex 1/2" spacer on both front and back. Ultimately I gained 1.5 inches both front & back, this was with installing front/rear steel bumpers and front steel cable winch. (that height gain was independent of the 33's which were also installed)

Hope this helps, happy to provide more details.

Thanks for the info guys! I think the shop that’s gonna do the work has got it figured out. Now we just have to decide on what kind of tires in the next few weeks.

Man that looks perfect to me. I don't plan on going to 35"s anytime soon and I've been having a beast of a time trying to figure out the differences between all the lift options (spacers, boosts, etc). But that height with 33"S is exactly what I'm after.

Go for the 1/2" Terraflex spacers too, you be glad you did. I almost didn't but changed my mind at last minute. Easy to install while you got it apart. I sit higher than a stock Rubicon now - just where I wanted to be!! All I had to do is re-center the steering wheel a bit when I was done - less than a turn on the steering linkage adjuster and it was perfect.
How did you adjust the steering wheel? I just put on the 1/2” teraflex spacer and Rubi takeoffs and have my wheel slightly left of center while tracking straight.

thanks!

Here’s my Rubi takeoff info (I also added a teraflex 0.5” spacer on all 4 corners).

spring info:
Orig.
DF-58 PF-59
DR-87 PR-88
Rubi
DF-61 PF-62 (+3)
DR-91 PR-92 (+4)

Measurements from ground to lower part of fender:

Before After
DF 36.75 38.25
DR 36.75 38.5
PF 36.5 38.25
PR 36.75 38.5

overall very pleased with 1.5” to 1.75” lift and hoping for Rubi takeoff fenders next.

The only trouble I had was getting the Passenger Front spring out as the axle didn’t want to drop low enough to release the spring. I was also replacing the Lower Control Arms with the Mopar 2” lift kit LCAs so I dropped the stock LCA out and the spring just Fell out. It was a bit difficult getting the new LCA in with the Jeep raised in the garage though. After swapping the new LCA on the drivers side and raising the axle up towards normal compression, the New LCA went in much smoother. The only negative effect is that my steering wheel is now an inch or so turned to the left as I drive straight.
