Hi spoke with a dealer who is pretty knowledgable and was told Jeep only produces Recons on even years.

If that's the case, then possibly 2022 model year? We'll see.

-Steven
I don't get why he told you this, because there haven't been that many Recon editions, and before this one, there was a '17 JK, which was obviously not an even year.

Hi, I thought the previous Recon was a 2018, the year when they were finishing JK(U) production and starting the new JL(U)'s production(fall of 2017).

Previous to that, they offered the Hard Rock which was in 2016(which I own).

Do I have the years wrong?

I think it started in 2017, and it very well may have continued into 2018. Here is an article talking about the 2017's: https://www.motortrend.com/news/2017-jeep-wrangler-rubicon-recon-looks-trail-ready-in-chicago/

Here is a 2017 for sale: https://www.truecar.com/used-cars-for-sale/listing/1C4HJWFG2HL620804/2017-jeep-wrangler/

Also, I love the Hard Rock. My 2014 Rubicon X is the previous version of that name, which came right after the Rubicon 10A. I'm following this thread because I ordered a 2020 Recon, but had to cancel back in March when everything started shutting down. I so hope they re-release this for 2021, becuase I love the option package.

Thanks for the detailed info Scott. As I stated, I was passing along the info I had been told from the dealer.

Let's hope they offer the Recon as a 2021, it is a great option package, especially the drivetrain.

With the JK they continued the Hard Rock for the first half of 2017 model Year and then switched to the Recon 2nd half of 2017 into 2018. The only reason I know is I bought my JKUR in June 2017 and was looking for a left over hard rock because I didn’t love some of the Recon appearance items. Ended up with just a plain old Rubi and regretted not gettin the Recon. Oh well, I have one now!

Picked up my new Recon on July 23rd. Owned a '05 and '12 Grand Cherokee and made the switch over to the Recon. I use this as my everyday car so going to build slow and look for a good combination of highway and light/med trail running...more to come

Beautiful Jeep brother! I have the exact same one! lol
I’ve been stopped by several people since I got it talking about how good it looks!
How are you liking your racor hoist and Topsy hinges? Thinking about doing the same setup for mine

I like it. I did quite a bit of research on which one to get and this one had the best reviews. Took a little while to installl. Lots of trips up and down the ladder but it’s a good solution.

Had a chance to christen the Jeep after crossing the 1,000 mile mark. Went up to the Catskills to Hunter Mountain for a nice day of wheeling With Northeast Offroad Adventures. Great time!

The hood decal...is that aftermarket? Or did that come from factory?
