I know there are other threads on this subject. But heres my take... I think this turned out rather nice. I cut the mating flange at the slots. Filed/sanded the remaining edge flat but leaving 1/8 inch. Made a filler piece cut from a front fender Euro filler. I was trying to mimic the look of the Gladiator rear bumper. I also added a 7 pin connector on the right side with the trailer wiring running into the open end of the frame tube - protecting all the trailer wires inside the frame. Tom

This is the piece used to cut the new filler out. The tape marks the cut lines.

For now I used a piece of 2x4 to space the filler panel 1.5 inches off the inner bumper panel. It's attached to two screw nuts already there. I intend to bend up a sheet metal bracket to replace the wood (Using the wood as a pattern). I do not have a picture of the wood spacer but will take one. But I do have this one.

Imagine a nice sheet metal bracket replacing this.... Two of the holes are just thru for clearance. The other two are counterbored for the factory screws. I used the original part that attaches there for the hole pattern.

I used the end of the bumper before I cut the flange off to trace on a cardboard template the shape to cut this piece. It took a couple of tries to get the fit I wanted. The euro filler had that nice almost 90 degree bend shape to make it look factory. Glad I didnt toss those, but you could make them out of sheet metal. The euro filler is exactly the right color and matching texture.
I will use two push pins like the front bumper uses to replace these two screws when the metal bracket goes in. Tom
