Yeah - as i am listening and reading and learning all this - i am leaning towards the 2 inch springs (woooops) but i do want to make sure it is NO MORE than 2 inches. then with some more gear on the jeep probably end up with a little less.

I do like and have heard good things about the SYNERGY stuff and I very much appreciate Chris from Synergy sharing his know-how with us. So this is an option but I dont know what shock to pair it with. I think I prefer the KING to the Fox monotube. work in progress.

I am also waiting to talk to EIBACH. I mean these guy have been making springs since 1951 ! These guy make spring for Formula 1 ! these guys make springs and have WON the Baja 1000. Feel like I should look into it..

Yeah, I'm anxious to hear what Eibach says.

Synergy actually recommends going "up" a shock length because their shocks have a longer free length than most others. If you pair the FOX IFP 2.0 shocks with Synergy's 2" springs they recommend using part numbers 985-24-179 and 985-24-180. These are the FOX IFP shocks for a 3.5-4 inch lift. The front FOX shocks have a collapsed length of 17.8 and extended length of 28.0. Almost 5 inches longer than stock. So it's not as simple as finding a shock that's 2 inches longer than stock to match with a 2 inch lift.
This is what was confusing the heck out of me. Using a 3.5-4'' shock with a 2'' lift coil...

That’s because you will get more flex out of them if you have enough bumpstop to keep the shocks from bottoming out.

So... if using the 3.5-4'' length Fox's with Synergy 2'' coils would you adjust the bump extensions to the 2/3 or 4'' increment? With stock Rubicon fenders. Or just cycle it and see?

From Synergy's kit - Front and rear adjustable bump stop spacer kits are included to provide the necessary clearance required for larger tires. Bump stop spacing is adjustable from 2-4 inches in 1-inch increments without having to remove any hardware.

I'm going to guess 2" bump stops, since the Fox's collapsed shock length is about 2" longer than the Rubicon.

Yes. Just flex it and see but I’m sure just the 2” BS would work fine.

Since a 35" tire fits on a Rubicon, would that mean a 37" tire (which is 1" more in radius) could fit with 1" bump stops?
Not in the rear. It also depends on wheels too. In the front, stock wheels and 37s yes, if you adjust the steering stops. But at that point you’re really over compressing those springs.

Here’s mine with 37s, stock wheels and the 2” mopar kit and 2” BS.

I've seen your pictures before, and they've pushed me more towards 37s...

I'm actually considering something more like a 1" or 1.5" lift, and 37s. With a 1" bump stop, I think the stock springs with a spacer should actually be compressed less than with factory bump stops. I am more concerned about tire rub.

I might end up using other OEM springs instead of the spacers. The 4-door diesel springs should give some lift on my JLR if I get the right combination.

My garage door isn't very high, so I want to stay as low as possible.

Honestly if you’re going to go through the trouble to replace springs, get some good 2” lift springs or if you want to keep your factory springs, just some 2” spacers. I ran those in my 4 door with the same tire. It was just fine. Are you planning on keeping factory wheels?

Either factory wheels or possibly something with a factoryish offset (like AEV's wheels)

I measured my current garage door clearance: it's only 4.5" with my stock JLR. It's a one piece overhead door, and I would like to have 1.5" of clearance. That leaves 3" for tire & suspension... so 37s & 1" lift?

I've got about an in or less clearance. That's definitely a concern.
