Hello to all, I have a question regarding the springs on most if not all aftermarket suspension kits. I know from the factory each spring is location specific. My 2018 JL Unlimited Rubicon and others I have looked at have 4 different spring numbers, also confirmed by Jeep parts department using my VIN number, so that would mean location specific? RF, LF, RR, LR. I have been looking at all 2.5 spring suspension kits and making some phone calls to try to figure out what is the correct way it should be done.
I purchased a JSPEC 2.5 kit and ordered standard front springs and heavy rear springs.
But there is no location for them, front is front and rear is rear, but there are other spring suspension kits that have 4 different spring part numbers, one for each corner, there are companies that have different thickness lower spring seats. I have seen the difference in the height when comparing the stock springs, longer spring on RR due to gas tank etc.
I hope that someone can shed a little light on this for me, kind of makes sense if it cake from the factory shouldn’t the aftermarket follow the same? I’m beginning to wish I bought a spacer lift, no second guessing on that install. Thanks in advance
