Last year we did August 4th I think.Maybe 2-3 weeks later than 2024's run. It's cooler in the day and less people.
So we aim for the last week of August? I am up for that

I'm penciling this trip in. The only reason I'd have to bail is if work comes up.Last year we did August 4th I think.

thanks for the reminder!Hey folks - I just booked a room in Placerville for Thursday night (7/31) and going to do the morning check-in on 8/1. Placerville is about 30 minutes from Georgetown. Rooms fill up fast so if you folks are thinking of getting a room - definitely not too early.
Just 7 months away!
Placerville has more lodging and restaurants.thanks for the reminder!
Any specific reason why you’re staying in placerville and not Georgetown?
yea, gave Jerry a call and chatted with him about it. Im gonna take a look at placer and one other spot to stay. figured i can roll in Thursday mid day and check in for the trail ride then head down to placer or somewhere along the 50 headed towards the trail. less driving in the morning the betterAs @roaniecowpony mentioned, more lodging and restaurants in Placerville. Also, there's only like 2 B&B's in Georgetown (something like that anyway) and no one had lodging for 3 (me and my 2 girls). An extra 30 minute drive in the morning just means waking up 30 minutes earlier. Not a big deal for me. Did the same thing last year.
We stay in Pollock Pines at the Stagecoach Inn. Best dinner around there is at Smith Flat House Cellar and Grill almost to Placerville whether you stay in Pollock or Placervilleyea, gave Jerry a call and chatted with him about it.
