For shits and gigs I went on the build site the other day to see what my 2021 JLUR cost in 2023

according to the build site on Jeep.com my $54,xxx build is now $59,xxx :whew:

yikes....

btw, I ended up only paying about $48,xxx thanks to Kent and his 8% below invoice pricing

I did the same thing today…. about 9,000 more than my 2020….about 17% more for the same thing. They’re making a ton of money on these things; approaching luxury car prices for something that is far less complex to build. The value proposition is becoming very questionable….especially with ongoing quality concerns that are never addressed.

You got me curious about mine. There are some options that don’t seem to be available right now but a pretty close approximation is $11,700 CDN more.

They also have more standard features. 8.4 stereo and proximity locks on all rubicons. Not sure what year that became standard though.

LED is like 1800 now. Ridiculous. 1800 for transport to I think? Tow is 400 more, just crazy increases.

Hell they want 1300 for the old ugly rubicon wheels now.
That's crazy. LED lighting should be standard on all vehicles these days, purely as an improvement to safety. By now the cost should be comparable to halogen lighting and certainly shouldn't be a nearly $2,000 upcharge. Heck, LED is now standard equipment on even the cheapest Honda Civic.

And I actually really grew to like the old-style Rubicon wheels and didn't at all care for the new standard 4xe-style wheel, so paid about $1,000 extra for something that was previously free the year prior (couldn't even order a Rubi without the upcharge when the '23 order banks first opened).

I get the whole inflation thing that's been happening, but a lot of Jeep's recent price increases and simultaneous cost-cutting measures are just downright greedy for vehicles costing this much - at least when compared to price increases and additions to standard equipment on other brand vehicles that are obviously subject to the exact same problem.

Yeah I always call them the ugly ones then I see it and they just work really. But 1295 for something that was standard is just weird.

My almost-loaded 2018 JLUR that has everything but the heated leather stickered for less than a moderately equipped Willys today.

Last time I checked the MSRP on my 2018 Sahara would be $10,000 more these days.

Compared to four years ago, the 8.4” screen now comes standard, but I would have to get the eTorque V6; pay extra for the paint and the Sahara side steps...
