The wiring harness to connect the e-locker on the Rubicon crate axle is a simple 2-wire to a toggle switch design. The computer does not seem to be incorporated at all. When these axles are installed on a sport with a simple toggle switch do the lockers have the same speed limitations that they do on the Rubicon or can they be turned on and off freely?

yes your assumptions are correct, the the factory rubicon has 4 pins, 2 for the lockers electro magnet, and 2 for the sensor to check for engadgment. The computer is watching the sensor so check if it is engaged or not, and depending on speed and t-case position will allow the electromagnet to be energized.

the 2 pins that you have are just the electromagnet, so you can just hook that up to a switch and a fuse and maybe a relay and it will work without computer restrictions

In what transfer case position would you want to avoid locking? Is the Rubicon only allowed to lock in 4L?

By manually activating the lockers (IE using the two-pin wiring and a switch) you bypass the computer's speed and transfer case restrictions. You can engage the lockers in 2H, 4H, and 4L, at any speed. I'm not sure you should, but you can.

Lockers are a great tool but they have limitations.
Dry pavement is a good way to break an axle or just eat up tires.
Snowy roads and you will find that it will fishtail all over and try to spin you out.
I try to limit locker use to off road use
