I'm sure I could search and read and then read some more then compile a spread sheet, but I'll admit I'm way to lazy and busy for that! I've owned several Jeeps over the last 19 years so I'm fully aware that I'm drive a vehicle with the arrow dynamics of a cinder block on wheels. I didn't expect good gas millage but 20% bellow advertised on a stock Rubi is a bit more than I expected.

SO here's what I was thinking.

Rubicon only due to different gears tires ride height etc.
Current miles on the vehicle.
Sate you current set up. Lift, tires, added weight!
What fuel do you use. 87, 89, 91, Ethanol???
Where are you from hills or flat land.
Current OVERALL MPG

I bought my JLUR used with 2100 miles and now have about 4600 on it. it is still bone stock. I've tried 87 Ethanol, then switched to non-Ethanol when I can find it. I live in Eastern Iowa with plenty of rolling hills, 1/2 and 1/2 city to Highway.
15.3 MPG is my average 18.2 best with a tail wind, 14.1 worst.

I get 17.5 average but have gotten 19.8 back in the summer doing 55 for a 45 min trip. Trouble is i cant drive 55 ... and honestly the 3.6 actually sounds pretty bitchin when you tach it up. Def better than my old jk’s

Stock Rubi. I’m getting about 17, mostly city driving. 18/19 Hwy. 87 regular. I might have a slightly lighter foot than you do.

I'll give you an idea from a Colorado guy living in Golden.

I've a stock 2 door Rubicon 6spd with winch and mounting plate adding about 120 lbs but I remove my rear seat. There is a Sunrider for Hardtop that's open a fair bit so maybe a bit less mileage now alone with crap winter fuel.

My first 1500 miles I was averaging 18.5 to 19.5 on summer fuel (85 oct) which has less ethanol. Now I'm getting 17.5 to 18.5 on winter fuel and the Sunrider. I'm also a bit of a heavy foot.

Headed up to the mountains I'll get down to 16-18 mpg, but headed down I get up to 22-23 mpg. I could see 24mpg if I kept below 65 mph and don't have to go up hill.

On the whole, I'm paying about 0.12 to 0.14 cents per mile which is about 2-4 cents per mile better than the Subaru given that I have to use premium in the Subaru.

I ran 4 tanks of premium through and it didn't affect mileage much if at all. It was about 18.5 mpg with normal driving but that was summer fuel. Just rolled past 6000 miles so I expect things to settle in and get a bit better so long as I avoid lifts and bigger tires.

The only time I get 14 mpg is when I'm wheeling and that is always worth it. :like:

YMMV

Being reported originally in stock configuration if 17 city, 23 hwy and 19 combined.
I think I am doing just fine. 3.5" lift, 35" k02's with aftermarket steel bumpers front and rear, 350lbs worth of rock sliders, winch and minumum 200 lbs of gear getting 17.9-18.3 on most tanks. ( roughly 190 city miles and 100 freeway miles. Straight freeway miles I've gone 19.8 max driving like a baby. Literally tried to get over 20.
2018 Rubicon JLU 6sp
In stock form I was getting 2mpg better.
For what I'm using it for, it's perfect.

Also bone stock 3.6L JLUR. Bought 8/30/18 and have just crossed 10,000 miles. 45 mile 1-way commute in flat Indiana. I consistently get 19.5mpg and that is with 87 unleaded. I aired down the tires to 34-36psi to correct for the wandering experience with the dealer’s 46psi. Overall very pleased with the fuel economy. I also use the auto stop-start religiously.

JLR six speed 3.6 stock with 50/50 city and highway driving and I average about 17.5 with 87 octane with 10% ethanol. I live in the Midwest with mostly flat roads but some slight rolling hills. Your highway speed makes a big difference. I regularly do 70 plus on the highway. If you drive 60 or less, MPG jumps considerably.

This. People would also need to state how fast they're going on HWY because comparing MPG without speed means nothing otherwise.

I'm on 35's with a healthy amount of weight added. Winch, lights, rock sliders and a decent amount of gear in the back (tent, folding table, chairs, a couple tubs of equipment like lamps, tools, cookware, etc, scuba tanks and gear, snow gear, recovery equipment...) and I don't take it out because I'm on the road more than I'm at home and it's not worth the time unloading.

I drive no faster than 65 on highway, usually right around 60. I run 87 with ethanol and best I've ever gotten was around 17 MPG.

I usually avg 18.5 mpg
If I keep it under 70mph I can get 20 mpg.

I feel like anything over 70mph kills gas mileage

Stock rubi with 6000 miles (87 oct), over the life of the vehicle i'm averaging 18.5 MPG. i'd say thats 50/50 driving. On the interstate keeping it under 75 i can pull 20 on the flat sections. Wind kills mpg, i'd say i drive slightly conservatively. Same interstate stretch a day apart i averaged 20.3 with no wind, the return trip i was fighting a front 18.6 mpg.

My JLR (2 door rubicon) MPG seemed to increase as it broke in. With winter blend gas and colder temps however it seems to be going down and/or stabilizing so hopeful that come summer it creeps back up again. With the 6 speed MT I see no issues with the auto start stop and use it all the time.

In addition i keep it between 65-70 on the HWY, if cruising back roads at 50-60 i can get closer to 23-25 depending on wind as I'm finding that, besides speed, wind is the biggest factor in MPG.

Current miles on the vehicle. ~8200
Sate you current set up. Lift, tires, added weight! bone stock JLR, running with no back seat,
What fuel do you use. 87, 89, 91, Ethanol??? 10% ethanol
