Fuel economy is totally driven by how you drive, mods, weight loaded in Jeep, fuel type, and oh yeah, as someone on here described it, your jeep is a lunchbox on wheels.... aerodynamics are not working with you!

You will get road raged in the slow lane here in Michigan going 75.
Lol. I bet. Up until the pandemic I was flying to Detroit every couple months. No idea why everyone was in such a hurry to get anywhere in Detroit.

I haven't had any long enough trips to see what my highway mileage alone is. But mixed I'm getting 21. Watching the real time mileage computer on the display I did notice about 3-5 mpg difference between 68 and 70 mph, give or take depending on wind and grade.

i've also noticed crappier MPG with the "winter blended" gas in the winter months.
Same here. I'm usually averaging 20-21 but now with the winter gas and fewer ESS autostops due to the "battery protection mode" its 18-19

I have just driven from Preston to Aberdeen (330 miles) with cruise control on all the way between 70 and 72 mph and only got 20 mpg which seems a bit low even with 315 tyres on??? Anyone else finding motorway mpg is pants. I didn’t buy it for this I know but the snow forced me to use it instead of my other vehicle. Forgot to mention 2.0 petrol running on Tesco 99 posh petrol😳😳
I’d say that’s pretty good mpg for a rubi with stock tires at 70+mph, much less 315s. Might do better at 65 mph. My 3.6 stock rubi wouldn’t get more than 17-18 at those speeds unless I had a tailwind. As someone else mentioned, wind is a big factor with these rigs. Not sure what you were expecting, but the JL is not very aerodynamic.

Just ask @cosine he knows!
With a Jeep it's smiles per gallon, not miles per gallon, worth it IMO :)

At least you 4dr folks get more "smiles" from your bigger tank :)

A bit less painful to enjoy the smiles per gallon in the US than the UK ;)
A quick calculation on our gas pricing in the UK gets me to about $6 per US gallon :headbang::headbang::headbang:
Am I right in thinking gas is around $2 a gallon in the US?

It's one of the reasons I went for the 2.2 litre diesel. Not that it is a lot better. On short runs around the rural area where I live, I'm getting 23.5 US MPG / 28.2 UK MPG !!!

It's about 2.39 where I live in North Carolina, but other states are more expensive.

At $2.39 a gallon it's a good reason to get the V8 392 though

Even at $6 a gallon, I could be very tempted to trade in my 2.2D if it ever makes it to the UK in RHD.

I average 16mpg around town with a 3.6L V6. But then I have a lead foot, and 3 recent photo camera tickets to prove it. :(
They'll get ya for sure.
