I just purchased a 2020 Sahara JKU with the 2.0 engine which is my wife's everyday driver. The engine is nice and smooth except for when you first start it. It has a bit of a rough idle until you put it in gear. It's not bad but noticeable to me (not my wife!) After that, it runs smooth and will idle smooth once warmed up. Has anyone else noticed this on their 2.0? Only have 400 miles on it so far.

I have a 2018 2.0 and yes, it does sound a bit rough with a high idle before " warmed" up.

Over a year for me and mine is not rough at start up. Maybe some bad gas?

Don't think it's gas. I put 93 octane shell for the first top off (about half a tank) and then Mobile 93 octane the 2nd top off (about 1/4 tank). Jeep only has a little over 400 miles on it.

Probably just the choke dumping a little too much gas into the engine. Auto choke is still a thing on vehicles right?

I am around 3500 on mine. I thought it was a very noisy engine early on. Running 93 made no difference over 87. The noise definitely is odd after running numerous 3.6 motors. I don't know if mine is breaking in and settling down or I'm just getting use to it, but I like the peppy little torque monster, and actually like the sound of it now. Doesn't seem as clickity clackity as before. Highway mileage over 65 is under 22mpg, but if i can keep it 60 and under i get around 25mpg. Mine won't stay in 8th like my 3.6 would unless you are on a level maintaining speed or going down hill.

I have a 2018 JL Sport. Idles high for about 60-90 seconds, then backs down. My understanding is that it's programmed that way to heat up the engine for C02 purposes....Not 100% sure. I live in HOT Florida, so it has nothing to do with the weather. I have the 2.0 Turbo and run 93 Octane.

Mine sounds rough as well when cold. Once warmed up it purrs like a kitten. Love my Jeep!

Yes. Mine has about 3500 miles on it now and sometimes first start in the morning its rough. Idle will bounce a bit, sounds like it has a cam in it and then it smooths out. Usually this is like a < 30 second thing. I also think mine is quieter then it was when i first got it but i could also be getting used to it. Im happy with it either way.

My 2020 2.0L and I both have a hard time waking up in the morning! I have about 900 miles on the engine, I’ve been very easy on it. Note: Running 91 octane gas.

Rough high idle on cold start, but really smooth after warmup.

Context: I had a 97 2.5L TJ...eventually added an Avenger Supercharger on 33” Super Swampers...that was somewhat terrifying on the highway. Then 07 JK, loved it...12 years later and I was getting serious about doing a RIPP SC to add some much needed power. I decided to test drive the 2.0L T JL first. Immediate love!

Hoping that this cold idle issue remains a minor annoyance or is addressed via TSB
