If I’m just planning to run 2x 2-2.5g fuel tanks, am I ok with the stock carrier ?

Trail rax?

Not as friendly on the bank on the way in but more secure than a ratchet strap, and moves weight off the tailgate. Also capable of supporting 4 packs per side.

Do you have a winky linky for that fuel setup?

Thank you sir!
You’re very welcome.

I’ve been very happy with mine, have a Waterport on the other side in the summer and diesel heater in the winter. They’ve been solid. If you have color match hard top I’d suggest picking up some 3M paint protection tape to save your paint below the mount. I moved my mounts after 18 months to accommodate the rhino rack backbone mount for my RTT, and it did a fantastic job keeping things safe

Clearly you read my mind. I was in the process of asking about possible paint damage and you answered my question before I could type it out. I am slowly prepping my 392 for some off roading and fuel is of great concern to me. This seems like one of the best options without have to buy a new bumper or add stress to the existing spare tire carrier.

I have this on my 2 dr with stock carrier and reinforced tailgate. No sagging and 35’s. if you want to keep your rear camera they have a kit too.

I have a 2022 392Xr with the reinforced tailgate and 35" tires. Will this work with no other changes? Perhaps I am a little dumb but I read their website and still don't have a firm answer to this question.

I’d like to say you shouldn’t have any issues but I’m not sure about the wheel on the 392. They have great customer support, I’d just call them and ask. They’re knowledgeable too Steve.

This interests me. Are you running stock or heavy duty OEM hinge? Have you run around much loaded with fuel? That’s quite a bit of weight to add to my already stock OEM hinge as I have 315 tire and a somewhat heavy door table already stressing it.

Man, that would make me nervous after adding in 100 pounds for the full tank (~66 pounds for the 12 gallons of gas) plus pushing the weight of the spare out that far. Those hinges had better be incredibly strong.

Yepper me too, 100 lbs. So far so good around town for awhile now testing. Heading out to white rim so I’ll check back then. Tailgate reinforced and a 35” tire. Pretty solid right now. 🤷🏻‍♂️

With the RotoPax locking mounts getting the cans and rack off the JL would take a bit more time than a thief would want to spend. There's that and the fact they need to be carrying some tools or be prepared to damage the rack, the cans and the JL trying to pry the assembly off.

Michael, do you notice more road noise with paxs installed?

Not really, Mark.

It sounds a bit different with them installed but the wind noise is not louder nor is it obnoxious.
