So I ended up with:

115 QTs of 0W-20
80 QTs of 5W-30

I am mixing it 60/40 and that nets me 38 OCs @ 5K per OC or a little over 200K on the clock when I run out.

I sent a sample of the virgin mix for a VOA to see how close the viscosity is to what the calculator said it would be and will post the results here.

I also just completed my first 5K OC and sent a sample for a UOA.

@DanW - here is the VOA of my "mix" of 0W-20 and 5W-30 (60/40). One thing that I found interesting is the TBN. My 5K run had the TBN at 2.68 (down from 6.44). My viscosity also sheared a bit from 9.6 to 8.7, meaning it started as a light xW-30 and ended as a heavy xW-20. There was 3-4K RPM sprints for miles during the 5,500 mile road trip where the 3.6L would downshift to 6 or 5 to maintain the 75+ MPH speed in headwinds and mountains. Despite that, the wear metals were good as was the gas mileage.

All in all I am happy with RGT (heck, I better be--200K worth in the stash).

I'm taking an overlanding run on the Appalatian Byway in NC/TN/VA starting Oct 16, so I'll change the oil just before the trip and do a UOA. I'll post it up when I get it. I'm guessing I'll have around 6500 or so miles on it, maybe a little less.

Forgot to mention the viscosity calculator was spot on--9.57 on the calculator and 9.6 on the VOA.

Has anyone tried FCP Euro? They have an unconditional warranty on everything they sell. I used to order my oil and filters from them for my 911, and then I would put the old oil back in the jugs, and my filters in a bag and boxed. Always sent me new stuff, absolutely free.

I think they're popular w/ the VW crowd, we just bought a VW Taos and that VW oil spec has a very limited choice of over-the-counter oil, so that site seems like a great option!

Man, so many VW's are using the wrong oil out here. Liqui-moly is the only consistently available oil I've found for them.

I guess I just don't understand their business model. It seems like a deal that is too good to be true.

I've been waiting for a month for that ding dong to empty his oil back into his bottles and send it off. His old oil is occupying my oil drain container and his empty bottles and box is tripping me in my garage. Lol. Sounds like he's bucking for future son-in-law, right?
