This one will make you shake your head...

A Jeep tech that works in Florida, whom I am very friendly with, emailed me this morning.. He wanted to tell me about something that happened at his dealership last week..

He told me they caught an oil change guy at the dealership with a personal locker full of, new , Wrangler oil filters.

Apparently, the tech was doing Jeep Wave Oil Changes / Oil changes on Wrangler's and had not been changing the oil filters.... but rather, he was stealing / taking the new filters home and selling them on Craigslist, eBAY and such..

Anyway, they fired the 22 yo guy.

I do my own oil changes, but after hearing this story, were I having Jeep Wave or any oil change done at the dealer, I'd before hand, be pulling my old filter and scoring it's plastic with an awl and then putting it back in... THEN, after my oil change at the dealer, I'd be pulling the filter once again, to see if in fact a new, un-etched oil filter was in installed.

Wow, that's crazy! Glad they caught him.

Have never had a shop change my oil in 40+ years of motoring, nice to be able to avoid all that can go wrong when something so simple can get so bungled.

What's the highest cSt at 100 degrees for a 20 weight?

K23 or RMN25 not working? Try opening a page in incognito mode and then apply the discount--sometimes cookies are stored that can hose up the discount.

Looks like it no longer works on oil, put filters (cabin & air) for both my vehicles in cart along w/ the 3 oil jugs and the 25% off only applied to the filters
Oh well, it was a nice run! Maybe this mad Rotella scramble caused them to change up the discount rules

What about K15? I know for one of them there was a minimum purchase price (like $30 or something).

Looks like it's official, no further discounts, but it was nice while it lasted Still gonna pick up 3 more jugs though, can't beat that deal w/ a stick

I purchased mine from advance auto but they are not listed as one of the retailers for the rebate! Has anyone figured out how to get the rebate to work with advance auto?

I'd send it in anyway. You've got nothing to lose. I've heard on Bitog of some folks getting it even though they used retailers not listed. Not sure if true, but that's what they reported.

Here's my stash from the AAP sale, including mostly 0w20 and some 5w30. It does not include the 28 or so quarts of 5w30 in my cabinet and JK 3.8 sump and 5 quarts of 0w20 in my JL Pentastar sump from the Autozone clearance last spring. I have to thank SOPUS for providing me so much great oil for so little money.

I need to seek help, though. I found a store near where I work that I believe has lots more of both weights in stock. Somebody make me stop!!!!

I have 8, 5qt. bottles... I figure my JL will be history before I go through all those... wonder if a Bronco can use 5W20. 8-)

Lol! That's what may slow me down. I am actually planning on using some of the 0w20 on my daughter's Renegade. She's piling miles up on that thing quickly, so probably the bulk of it will find its way to that 2.4. My wife's van and the JK will use up the 5w30. But I think I'll do at least two 7.5k OCI's with it in the JL, then I've got a bottle of Mobil 1 AP, so that's 22.5k. My cart on AAP's web site has 15 quarts sitting in it right now. I'm trying to resist hitting "check out" ......trying......

I did an OC today as a prelude to a road trip and used RGT. Will see how it does on the road.
