Roof Top Tent Quick Walk Around

I I installed the Roost USA Roof Top Tent on my JL to get ready for a lot of travel this year! It seems to fit the JL well and pairs nicely with the @Maximus-3 roof rack.

Don’t be! It is cool, but like all things, new fades then on to the next mod! That said, hoping it provides some good functionality for years to come. Are you thinking about getting a tent in the future?

Possibly, but not for a long while. I watch a lot of Jeep overlanding YouTube channels with RTTs, but right now, if I'm going camping w/ my Rubi, I'll use my Hennessy Hammock.

Those things are awesome, and a great solution to keeping you off the ground. Pretty much a backpacking must I would say!

Thank you! Yes the tent has built in channels on the bottom, but they didn’t match up with the rack rails. I could have used crossbars, but I wanted it as low as possible for aerodynamics and I am running out of garage height. The drill had to come out

Did you by chance compare this to a bunch of other RTTs and racks to get the most garage clearance? I'm having a hard time finding a good spot with the various tents/racks and their height adds. Might need to put together a spreadsheet. I can't park my jeep outside. Really want the gobi stealth but it adds 3-4" itself.

I more chose Roost because they are a small US company and make a quality product. I like that the shell also doubles as a cargo carrier. The @Maximus-3 rack is very low profile and will help the clearance issue. You’ll Ben better off with a hard shell tent for clearance I would think.
