Good to hear you got it. Love my gen 3 steps. My favorite mod so far. Already have trail damage on em within two weeks of installing. Btw, I paid someone to install mine $460 here in Denver. Figured if they broke a body mount bolt, they would have to fix it ?

Where did you have them installed for $460? I'm getting quotes for $1,100 in the Springs.

My fuse box is behind my battery at the firewall. It doesn't look like there's any space behind the fuse box. I might have to lean my hood open to get a better view.

In the dark have someone shine a light from underneath while you look from above and the best routing will be more obvious.

Autoplex in Northglenn, CO. Looks like they have a shop in the Springs as well. https://www.autoplexco.com/locations/ Make sure if you use them that they install the rubber seal between the slider and the body (installed mine wrong).

I went to the local shop. The woman behind the counter didn't know what rock sliders were. She finally found someone who had a clue, but my confidence in their ability is pretty low. About $600 there, but I'm passing.

Contemplating installing them myself, but the estimates are for 6 to 7 hours.

I installed them myself and still working on them. I chose to work on it in stages due to kids/family time. I first loosened the body bolts, then the following day, I installed the brackets. Once those were on I installed the sliders and bolted them on. It actually took longer than that due to technical issues. I just need to figure out the wire harness issue and then I'll be done.

Did your Jeep have the added chunk of metal behind the passenger front wheel that apparently has to be removed? I hope that just requires removing bolts.

No, I think that metal piece was added in 2022 models. Mine is a 2021. If you can take a picture I can check, but I didn't have issue putting the rails onto the brackets. I only had to drill out the front pinch seam holes since they were not a uniform size.

I am trying to run the wire harness on my JL and I am having a hard time getting the wires harness into the engine compartment. Are the wires ran up between the battery and the fender or behind the fuse box?

Hi I just installed mine this past week and I ran the harness in front of the fuse box and out on top of passenger frame rail.

I found it easier to run the cable up from bottom than down. I used a wire fish line. Make sure before you zip tie wires on rail that you leave enough slack for the cable to reach positive battery terminal…. Mine shifted and I removed the cable clamp RSE gives you to bolt to frame to give me a bit more slack.

hi I spread mine out over a few days but spent more time than that. It was a lot of work but def worth it.

I used floor jack to raise step up to line it up and put it on pinch seam then bolted it all up.

I have a tray that covers the space between the fuse box and the firewall and then there's the battery tray. Between the fuse box and battery is a cover plate covering a wire loom, maybe the wires to the aux battery. Can you take a picture of the area where you ran your wires so I can compare my setup under the hood.

I enjoy doing most of my own work. But was afraid I would break the front body mount bolts. I would pay $600 to have someone else install these.

I found another place that's highly recommended that will do them for about $900. I'll most likely have them install my skid plates and roof rack too. I definitely don't relish the idea of drilling into my brand new AEV bumper for the roof rack.
