Does this provide a little more traction for using the rail as a step in wet conditions? Or, would a grip tape work better?
Rust-Oleum Bedliner Spray provides no traction at all.

I'm familiar with Rust-Oleum in general ... but, not their bed-liner spray. I thought as a bed-liner spray it might have grip elements added.

The ACE sliders look a lot like the sliders that are/ were standard on the late 2017 (& ‘18?) JKU Freedom Edition. Question for our friends at ACE: did Jeep copy your design or farm it out to your company?

Sorry, was going by memory :whew: You are correct. They aren’t the same. Here’s a better pic from when I was considering a brand new ‘17 Freedom Edition (before I went down the rabbit hole that is ordering a JLU! :cwl:)

Yeah, I definitely want something that works as a functional rock rail/slider but also doubles as a useful step.
I like the looks and dual functionality of the ace sliders. Just ordered them from Northridge 4x4 using the promo code in this thread. I just need to make sure my family & friends don't slip on them in wet weather. Do any of you know of solutions to this? Below are two I'm considering...

Grip Tape ... a 2" strip centered on the top of the rail.

AntiSlip Rust-Oleum spray might work well too.

One of the guys in my Jeep club in Tampa welded on some chains to his rock rails so they don't get caught on anything with crawling... I've already talked to him and he's going to help me with it when I get back from my work trip, but has anyone had experience with using the Rust-Oleum bed spray on the rails to repaint it after the welding?

All I should have to do is scuff of the rails with a pad and clean it them use the can to repaint it right? Or can I just paint it since the rails are still brand new?

Wow, those seem really narrow to use as a step. Is it just the photo angle, or will a snow boot have a hard time fitting onto that?
My one Son has Ace Slicers on his JK. I don't find them to narrow to use as a step. Picture makes them look smaller and closer to side of vehicle that they actually are. They have to stick out from side about 6". Perhaps someone can give you a measurement. My Son's JK is not at this location or I would give you the measurement.

They stick out 4" from the OEM rock rails. It's far enough kids feet can use them as a step. My wife uses it and the grab handle as a step. I'm tall enough I only use them when putting skis on the rack or cleaning the top.

I had them on jk, they are prefect for a step to wash the roof or get in the JL.(if you're too short).
