Was just informed that apparently there is no exo cage thread...

So here's a sneak peek at our frame mounted exo cage (if all goes well it'll be launched at this year's SEMA show):

Features:

Frame mounted - will support the entire weight of the vehicle with reasonable safety margin (2X). Will demo this by lifting entire JL with crane from the exo cage. Does not mount or touch the body sheetmetal at any point. Mounting points are: Front Bumper, Rock Rails, and Rear Bumper, all frame mounted and not body mounted. Weight payload is another entire JL.

Tube doors mounted to exo cage with sync points to the OE doors. A better way of doing tube doors.

3" Tube Diameter DOM Cromoly. None of that skinny stuff.

Does not increase NVH because its frame mounted.

Designed with aerodynamics in mind: with the rear bumper mounted air diverter and another front air diverter (not pictured) our exo cage system will not have noticeably increased wind noise.

Removable cargo carrier - so if you don't need the cargo carrier the exo cage with the cargo carrier removed will be the same height as the JL hardtop.

Other features will be announced as we get the first prototype factored and produced.

Thanks everyone for the support!

If I could add a design idea. The "C" pillar support (behind second row bench) should be designed to accept toes in wide boots like a ladder. You could load from the rock rails, step onto the tire and next into the first toe rail.

Can't wait to see the next Jurrasic Park using this.

With all that extra weight, you're probably going to need to carry more gas...I wonder if there is a way we could do that easily....hint hint.

Awesome to see this in development. Excited to see a final product. It will increase noise though. One light bar makes a difference, this will be like adding 10.

I'm interested in this for sure depending on the specs. I think standard cages are limited in the JL, so an exo-cage may be a good option for those who need the rollover protection. also looks like it may be easy to remove, so if not priced out of the market may be a good option to throw on as needed.
