North Shore Off-RoadIs there anyone that knows a shop or a mechanic in the Vancouver area that does a regearing service where I could provide my own parts?
Thank you.

I also know this private mechanic that does it in his garage for $50 an hour.
Hey YannickThank you.
Yeah! I have contacted all of those businesses and most of them have giving me quotes that are 3000$ of over. I am trying to get the entire regearing work done under 3K. One guy gave me a quote for 2700$, but he is in Oak Harbour, Washington.
If I purchase the parts online, I am able to save 200$ compare to most shops in the GVRD area. It just feels to me that 3000$ is quite a bit.
How well do you know the mechanic you mentioned and how legit is he?
I just talked with the service guy at my dealership, and he said I could bring my own parts which they will install and warranty the work. My dealership also offers a 10% discount on service.FYI- Most shops don't like installing gears sold by others. The liability is pretty bad. Few of the ones that do offer any type of warranty.
How much did he quote you for the regear?Enrico. in mission. did mine . he does ok work .
That is something he mentioned on the phone. He's done research about the work that needed to be performed on the regear, gave me several calls after doing so and his labor is extremely fairly priced. He had trouble removing them, but he is good at standing behind his work .
