What if you outfit your Jeep with wide 5's. Then you can change out the rims. Maybe an old dump truck or school bus would only have rims.They are wheels, not rims. Most people that call them rims are using the incorrect term. You won't find rims on cars nowadays. I think it looks better without the center caps.
On the other hand, if you are an old timer, any wheel that was not steel was called a "mag". This was because for some reason a wheel that was non steel, must have been made of magnesium, as it could have never been made of something like aluminum. Then that brought on the next term "alloys". So any aluminum wheel was called and "alloy". Finally we have timed out on those old terms (unless you are in your 70's).
In the end, we all know what people are talking about.
