Such a bummer. I subscribe to his YouTube channel. He put a lot of effort into being prepared and seems safety conscious. I'm sure this was a freak accident. Best wishes and a speedy recovery to the woman who sounds to be terribly injured. Same to @American Jeeper who I'm sure at a minimum is extremely shaken up. This will be tough to get through. So sorry to hear.

I also saw mention of this accident on an attorney's website. I cannot express the amount of loathing this instills in me, using the accident as a promo opportunity. Not EVEN going to post the link...

I think I saw the same... I thought it was a legitimate news story about the incident until I saw the header. These assholes don't waste time.

I'm sure fellow members would have enough respect for @American Jeeper to neither mention them nor post it.

Wow, I'll be praying for a fast recovery for all involved. I too watched A.J's video yestersay on his arrival to EJS.

This to me this is like any rally car race or even standing 4 feet to the right or left of a golfer tee'ing off. You can't go there and have the expectation that if you get injured it is anyone's "fault" but your own. People get hurt and standing feet away from a 3000lb machine trying to climb a damn rock face is not a place to be if you can't handle the consequences.... This of course is all in response to the mention of attorneys using this example for marketing.

Get well soon everyone and please stay safe.

Aww man, that's just awful. No question - rock crawling can be dangerous. I hope all involved recover quickly.

I don't know the situation because I wasn't there - but to me - it seems like the watchers were not where they should have been for the sake of their own safety. I'm not assigning blame, just saying that spectators have a responsibility to keep a safe distance - just like jeepers have a responsibility to be cautious when crawling.

Just reminds me of all the people standing so close to vehicles wheeling! Kind of like all those spectators at those offload rally car trails eating dirt as the cars go by. I will be the guy watching from behind a tree!

Anyways best wishes to those that got seriously injured! :please:

Best wishes to all in this sad turn of events. :(

IF you are out at these and on foot its important to remember alot of things can happen, accidents, equipment failures, unexpected ground events (breakways, slides, etc), recovery equipment breaking, anytime someone is on gassing it 45 degrees to either side could have potential events, view from further away. I used to see all kidns of stuff when I was young working with heavy equipment.

especially kids and such that may not react or be watching closely.

in any event sad to hear

However, on a lighter brighter note, did you all notice his windshield did not crack? Or at least I didn't think I saw it cracked from the pictures I saw. Best wishes for a speedy recovery for everyone.

Godspeed for quick recovery for all involved. I watch his channel, seems like a good guy . Definitely sucks when something like this happens to drivers and spectators.

Unfortunate accident involving site member @American Jeeper at Easter Jeep Safari :(

Some reports/rumors from fellow JLWF members:

News Story:

MOAB, Utah, April 15, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — One person was airlifted to an area hospital after a Jeep accident on the Golden Spike Trail near Moab Sunday.

A Facebook post from Grand County Search and Rescue said the patient was flown by Classic Air Medical while emergency medical services and search and rescue were still en route to the scene.

“We were en route to this incident on the difficult Golden Spike jeep trail to assist as needed,” the Facebook post said. “We rely on the workhorse of our fleet, our rangers, to get us and EMS to the scene. “Shout out to our fleet manager and his team for building these amazing vehicles. Thanks to Classic Air Medical, such a great resource for our community for successfully completing this rescue.”

The photograph below shows the vehicle officials used to get to the Jeep.

Grand County Emergency Medical Services said: “Thank you to the team at Classic Air Medical who are able to access and start patient care quickly in the Moab back country. If you have not already please watch our video on safety for Jeep Safari.”

Golden Spike Trail is a 16.3 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Moab, that is rated as difficult to navigate.

@JAY this was overstepping things a bit by editing out my post and replacing it with what you did. No offense, this is the type of shit I'd expect on a [Banned Site] run forum and it isn't cool. Instead of editing and replacing everything from my post, you should have started off a new thread.

Last thing I'll say, I might have had a little more respect for what you did if you had sent a private message explaining what you did and why. I guess I didn't deserve that much of a courtesy.
