I’m not really too experienced when it comes to vehicles so I have a question. I have 2 15in subs by Kicker that are brand new in the box. Now, I noticed that different packages give you stronger alternators so will updating the alternator in the JL be a mandatory upgrade when I install the 2 subs and amp?

I'd look to a better battery, such as an Optima yellow top. That would give you more reserve capacity. Plus, shell out a few hundred bucks for the towing package, and you'll get the bigger alternator.

Does the JLR come with the largest alternator? I am still questioning about ordering the $500 Tow Package, when I can buy an equivalent Class 2 receiver and wiring harness for $100.
