I know this is an ancient thread, but El Jefe, I'm curious--did you ever get an answer to this? I just moved to Indian Hills and am looking to get a jeep for rock crawling, snow plowing and daily driving, and am curious about the longevity and overall offroad experience of clutch-based vs chain based.

No great answers but my JL just got delivered with one & it’s now standard on the 392, so I’m thinking it’s no worse??

I got it on my JLUR, I think it’s going to work out good for me

Have it on our 21’ JLUR. Works seamlessly and the dash fuel mileage gauge doesn’t change much (.5-1 mpg)when shifting out of and in to full time.
