Replace XR suspension?

How many of you opted for the XR package and still plan on doing an aftermarket lift?

I am tossing the idea around and considering doing a long arm lift on the 392 XR and moving the shocks/springs/wheels and tires over to my 2019 rubicon...

Or am I nuts?

I'm going to go with either the Clayton 3.5 or the Metal Cloak Overlander 3.5 after a while though. I want run 37's at some point. Heck I haven't even taken delivery yet to see how much overhead room I will have to get in the garage. :CWL:

I pick up my new XR at noon tomorrow. Iā€™ll be removing the stock fenders and replacing them with flat fenders right away. Iā€˜m going to run stock for a while and eval bump stops and flex limitations. Then Iā€™ll decide what needs to be done to run 37s

I removed the inner fenders on my 2019 Rubicon and have the American Adventure Labs LED running lights/bracket. I first thought the fender would have issues at highway speeds but they are fine. So aside from personal preference cosmetically, I would consider that before replacing them.

Good to know I am not the only one that is spending the extra cash just to replace everything...

I hear ya. I run bushwhacker plastic flat fenders on my JK to help clear 37s. I was looking at the mod you did for the JL on the fenders but then I saw the Quadratec video on the Paramount Hydro steel fenders and liked the look of those so thatā€™s what Iā€™m going with.

I have an XR and just decided to upgrade the suspension with a Clayton Overland+ 2.5ā€ kit. Iā€™m not planning on increasing my tire size at this time so the lift is to increase the up travel of the suspension. After you add a winch the front springs sag 0.5ā€ and it doesnā€™t take too big of a hit to get onto the bump stops.

I hit the bump stop softly before taking this photo so there may be a tiny bit more travel available than this but you aren't going to like what that last little bit feels like.
