Removing or Keeping Decals on Your JL?

Did you remove the Rubicon decal yourself from the 2018 JL, or just take that photo? If you removed the decal, how did you do it?

That’s just a pic I found on the forums. Consensus says blow dryer to warm them up and WD40 for removing.

Heat gun is a little better if you have access to one. Harbor Freight has them for maybe $12. Goof Off removes the leftover adhesive with minimal effort.

I’d avoid using Goof Off on paint. It is super powerful and can remove clear coat. Lesser aggressive ones like Goo Gone or other citrus ones are a little safer for the paint. At least avoid the professional strength stuff.

Thinking about taking the Jeep off too... I'm s*** at taking pictures and put no effort into it. I think it looks way better in real life without the decals. In my opinion of course.

I just used a blowdryer, came right off. If they've been on there longer I'm sure it would be more difficult. But being new, you probably wouldn't even need a blowdryer. It's just cold here...

Removed mine and also plasti dipped my emblems. I'm all for the blacked out life. Couldn't stand the chrome. Next to go is those rims/tires.

Great job...looks perfect, I will be doing the same with my Rubicon, wish they had the same blacked out Rubicon hood decal, can't stand the red...personal thing but does not work for me...so you just painted the "Jeep" and "Trail Rated" badges....how did you reattached them? Thank you for sharing....

Does the bullet antena work as well as the stock metal one?

Never removed them. Just follow this link pretty much, it's fairly easy. I also usually listen to XM or my iPhone. XM is a separate antenna. The few times I've had it on FM radio, I didn't notice anything wrong.

Yep, just 3m tape. Came right off. Looks better in person. Just clean, little more sinister looking. I think people know it's a Jeep....

Removed mine today. Hesitated but very happy I did. No unlimited sticker on my Rubi to begin with.
