I'm really excited to buy the new JL, just have a paralyzing decision. 2 door vs 4. I work in a super dense city and would love the 2-door parkability, but I also want to be able to easily sleep inside on long road trips to TX.

I know the 4-door is a no-brainer option, it's just a beast to park in SF.
2-door: Other than the surfer cot I found on these forums that rest above the front passenger seat (when folded forward), I haven't been able to get clarity on other options, like whether the front seat (or at least the back/upright portion) can be removed without messing with the airbag sensors, warranty, or something else...

In my opinion I'd just go for the 4 door as it's only 20in longer. It's still easy enough to park (provided you don't throw a massive lift and tires on), and will save you a ton of headaches in the future if you plan to sleep in it or carry more than 3 grocery bags.

Could always put a roof rack tent on a 2 door... At least I'm assuming they make them for the 2 door also.

dude, just get the 4 DOOR. It actually has a good turning radius and easy to move around. Like mentioned aloe. not that much difference in size.

hammock?

Great idea! I have been thinking about doing something similar... do you just use a regular hammock?

Get a four door, go to a custom shop and have the back two doors permanently closed and filled in, you'll have the first 2019 Gladiatorish Truck that is fully covered. ;-)

Thanks y’all, appreciate the thoughts. I’m like 60/40 on the 4door/2door choice now. Good to know about the hammock option.
Regardless I’ll be doing 33s and other mods, so will post some dank pics asap.
Also very curious to see the hammock in action. Cheers!
