I have a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4-door. I am trying to remove the passenger side rear interior black trim to access the tailgate hinges. However, it looks like no ones posted a removal for the 2021 JL, which has a different trim than previous years. I’ve been able to pull down the carpeting but I’ve been unable to figure out how to remove the black plastic trim. There are no screws and even with some generous tugging, it does not come loose. Anybody remove the trim for a 2021 yet and can tell me how to do it? ExtremeTerrain and Rugged Ridge have been no help (where I purchased the product I’m attempting to install).

Answer: remove seat belt trim piece (held in by 2 body clips), quit playing nice, find a couple finger holds in the side panel trim, and yank. It’s just body clips.

Unbolt that tail light first before you pull hard!

Also, if you pop the tailgate weatherstripping from the lower corner you can more easily get to the clips that mate to the floor
