Redline Tuning Hood Struts - 5 minute Bolt-In installation!

I'm thinking about buying some of these but just installed this coupler underneath the hood. Would this keep the hood struts from closing the hood?

That looks like it's mounted right where the struts get mounted.
What's it for? Can you move it forward a bit?

It's the coupler/switch for the air compressor. The plate is installed where I've circled below on this pic from the Redline install video.

Can you take a picture from the front and put your camera right above the headlight so we can see down the fender line? We should be able to tell if there will be interference.

There may be a very small amount of interference with the bolt heads and the gas spring when the hood is down. If this is the case, you can solve it by using bolts with a lower profile, or removing the washers.

I'm confident @Redline Tuning will get back to you on this..

Redline Tuning has mentioned many times in the past that the difference in regard to their "Elite offering" is the stainless in regard to the struts is a lengthier warranty period.

The Elite offering has a 5 yr. warranty and the Plus offering with the black "e-coat" a 4yr. warranty.

With that said the difference between the two offerings is only in appearance and length of warranty period.

So, decide if you want the look of black e-coat or stainless..
Do know that you can buy Carbon Fiber sleeves for the struts/that cover the struts if you are into Carbon Fiber.

On edit: The carbon Fiber sleeves will only work with the PLUS system as the Stainless gas springs are slightly larger in diameter.

@Rhinebeck01 is correct, there is no functional difference between the gas springs in the Black "PLUS" system and Stainless "ELITE" system. The only difference is the material Black vs. Stainless and warranty 4 vs. 5 years.

Just installed these last night. Taking my time, I was done in less than five minutes. In fact, I half thought I had to have messed something up, or missed something because it was so quick and easy. They work great.
