Recently went on a camping trip to SLC Utah. Loaded the new Jeep with a cooler, tote (camp stove, pots and pans) and duffel bag of clothes on the inside. Had the roof basket up top with sleeping bags, tent and camp chairs x3. Then had the hitch basket with the two foldable kayaks (25lbs a piece) and a water jug with 7gallons of H2O. The rear stock rear suspension seemed to struggle a bit under this load. Did some mild off-roading and while I didn’t have any rubbing it was pretty close at times. My old Grand Cherokee handled this same equipment no problem. Any recommendations for an upgraded suspension? Not really looking for a lift but would consider 1-2 inches of extra clearance, really just want a beefier suspension. Before the trip i was thinking of replacing wheels and tires with Rubicon take-offs; glad I didn’t because I’m pretty sure I would’ve had some serious rubbing issues with the 33’s. I still want to do this though, so anyone have recommendations?
