I don't know what kind of clearances you're working with, but there wasn't a way of surface mounting them without cutting the frame? What does the axle pad look like?

I don't know what kind of clearances you're working with, but there wasn't a way of surface mounting them without cutting the frame? What does the axle pad look like?
Can you elaborate on your question? Surface mounting what?

These bump stops get welded into the factory location and hit the axle pad the same as the factory bump stop would.

I was referring to mounting the can on the face of the frame instead of what appears to be a section cut into the frame (where the factory bump stop was?). I didn't know that when removing the factory bump stop that there is a big hole in the frame.

I don't know what that area actually looks like (I don't have my JL yet).

Ahh gotcha! You thought we may have unnecessarily cut into the frame?

Nope, just replacing what's already there!
