95% of the time I am out of a car before the warranty expires too. It's nice to know there is a discounted option though if anyone wants a Mopar warranty.Good move buying from Gupton. Nice people to do business with. The Grand Cherokee will be my second purchase from them in 3 mos.
I wasn't aware of any laws in Florida about extended warranties. Sounds
to me like an F&I manger was trying not to discount a warranty and feeding
a line of BS. I was in the car business for 20 yrs as a General Manger and ran a number of different dealerships, but not in Florida. My F&I Mgrs would try and and get any amount they could over the cost of the warranty. Whether it be
$100 or $1000 over cost, they would write it up. I have never bought an extended warranty. But, I usually sell or trade my vehicles before the factory warranty is up.
I see your from Illinois. I remember reading, on the forums recommended
dealers list, about a couple of dealers in northern Illinois doing big discounts. You might want to go back into the archives and check it out. Regardless, you
can't go wrong with Gupton. Good luck on your 2022 purchase!
The FL warranty law was not told by a F&I guy from a FL dealer. It was actually told to me by one of the larger dealers on this forum who sells Mopar warranties. He said as much as he would like to, he could not sell anyone in FL a discounted warranty. Others on this forum in FL confirmed that.
I bought my last '19 JLR from the IL dealer you are probably thinking of. Back then I got 7% under invoice with affiliate and a $199 DOC, cash deal with no trade or other front or back end products. Unfortunately they are not discounting anywhere near a actual 7% -under invoice anymore. IL also raised the DOC fees to $303.60 in 2021.
I like the part of the country Gupton is in so it's not a big deal to travel down there. I frequent the area often. I will make it a fun road trip and have some great BBQ. Probably hit the Smokey Mountains on the same trip. I plan on hitting the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green too since it's on the way. One of these days I will do a Museum Delivery for a C8 in Bowling Green also. Like I said I love the area. It will be a win-win for me.
I had a new GC for a loaner for a month when my JLR was in for Uconnect issues. I put a couple of thousand miles on it. It's a really nice vehicle. Congrats on it!
