We went to an offroad park yesterday and this happened. Looking for recommendations on what steps to take to ensure mechanical, electrical and cosmetic (interior and exterior) maintenance post such an event? First time swimming for me.

Was planning on taking the path to the left, but the slippery rocks, mud and slush pushed me right into the stuff. Flooded seat high, was completely shut down, electrical and all for 2-3 minutes while in it. Eventually started back up. Sounded like a tractor for a while after coming out, with reduced power. Eventually cleared up. Seems to be running fine right now.

Thanks in advance everyone.

Ok, so my first electrical issue has surfaced..my push button start/ stop won’t work. I shut off the engine by pulling the fuel pump fuse and disconnected the -be terminal on the battery to kill power and potentially reset the computer.

Any suggestions??
Thanks.

thank you so much. I’ve probably driven about a 100 miles since I dunked it. Mechanical seems ok but I do plan on getting the fluids changed. I feel like the electrical issue is definitely because of moisture in the system and I need a day/ two of 90 deg weather to dry things out. But who knows.. your suggestions are definitely appreciated.
Tomorrow I start taking out the carpets. Couldn’t do it today because it rained all day.

Bummer. Exactly why I gave up on mud and water a long time ago. I’d definitely change fluids.

Have you taken off the cover of the electrical box under the hood and see any signs of water?

Would check in that first... if it got water in it a good place to start the cleanup. Also the ECU plugs I would take a look at.

No sign of water in the fuse box, battery area or close. I’ll look into the ECU plugs. Thanks.

Carpets out, interior cleaned. Now the jeep won't start. Get "No Bus" error. Dash lights up, Chinese menu of errors listed....! Any suggestions??
