You're the first I heard say that. I have the cat back Tread on my Gladiator, all the other Jeepers in my circle chose it or switched to it and it's universally loved with us. I don't think the axle back sounds great, definitely recommend the entire setup from cat back, and it won't be cheap, but we do love it.
I realize this is subjective. I think one other forum member who had the system had similar thoughts. like I said..well made…precise welds and construction…. Just not the sound I was looking for.

I'm going to put one on the wife's 2018 JLU Sahara (V6 manual). I also have a 2 door Willys Sport on order, but it has the 2.0 and I haven't heard the AWE on that yet.

If you go to their website and go to the JL/JLU section, they've got audio of the 2.0T with both Trail and Tread, and I think in catback and axle back clips. There's a lot of them there.

Scroll to the bottom of this link for the list of them all. They're listed below the parts and cost order sheet: AWE Exhaust Suite for the Jeep JL/JLU Wrangler | AWE (awe-tuning.com)

Hey all,
This is my first post on here and I'm wondering if anyone has a suggestion for an exhaust system (or just a muffler) to give some good sound to a stock 2021 Wrangler Sahara. Just looking for some good around town extra growl in the sound but nothing that is going to sound like some POS straight pipe system (or get annoying at highway speeds on long trips.

I was looking at MagnaFlow and Borla options but any recommendations appreciated!
I'm a fan of the Dynomax muffler delete/bypass. I usually get laughs for posting this. But if it passes inspection in your area, I love the sound. On the V6 anyway. Weight savings and clearance are also a plus.

Just ordered the full (midpipe and axle back) AWE Tread Dual Exhaust with black tips from AWE Tuning. Couldn't find one in stock for a 3 6 JLU. 10 week wait. Yikes. I didn't have a discount code either. $1356 with shipping.

I will say it's an easy install. Quality parts, decent instructions. At least it was for my JT Rubicon.

Thanks for the good suggestions all, I ended up going with the Magnaflow Street Series axle back. I put it on yesterday, 40 minute install and sounds great, no drone. Looks sharp too!

Jeep Wrangler JL Recommendation for exhaust for new 2021 Sahara? 20210801_142606
Nice!
Glad the install went well and you're liking the tone, IMO it's just about perfect for around town & the trails.

Great choice!! Love mine. I also installed a K&N cold air intake. Helps with throttle response and sounds great along with the Magna Flow exhaust. I’d also recommend upgrading to 275/70/18 (33”) tires - will complete the look of the Altitude package. Enjoy your JL!!

I like mine too.
I have a jl rubicon 3.6l on order and will be putting a magna flow on that one too.
Just to let you know that it will get a little louder over time.
