Hi all, need small advice ...

I'm in the middle of my project: Rubi JLU 2021, installed 37'' wheels with Dynatrac 2’’ kit + terraflex 0.5’’ spacer (total 2.5’’ lift) and have some rubbing with the plastic inner fenders at full flex. I’m planning to install the American Adventure Lab High-Line Fender Brace and remove the internal plastic inner fenders to gain more clearance and hopefully to avoid rubbing, and looking for an after-market solution instead of the inner fenders stock. Clearly, I am looking for an option that will not reduce the clearance, high quality, and ones that looks good J . I saw many companies making these after-market inner fenders from Aluminum with/without coating including MetalCloak, Motobilt, American Adventure Lab, DV8, Smittybilt and more. Looking for any advice/experience with any of these so I’ll make sure I getting the right one.

This community is sooooo great and helped a lot a newbie like me, thank you!

Is money a concern? I’d go with the MB or AAL inners.

I went with the Rough Country set because I got them at an awesome price second hand. I actually don’t have any complaints on their inners. Quality looks good. I haven’t been out to wheel with them but hoping they cure my rubbing issues.

Any of the inners you listed will work. Don’t let the bare metal determine your choice. I have the Artec inners , which also come bare . As long as you use an aluminum primer, a couple coats, then 3 coats of paint, you’ll be all set. Mine are holding up great, after nearly 2 years.

I went with the DV8, haven’t done the rear yet but they’re next. Haven’t decided if I’ll do the red or not no regrets.
Nice Jeep btw🤙🏻

Yes.

my only complaint is on my rears. They seem to look “unifinished”. I’m not sure if that’s a RC thing or across the board for all inners. I just feel they would look better with aftermarket fenders.

I stuck with AAL for everything related to the front and rear fender chop project. I highly recommend their fender retention hardware kits, that replace the remainder of the white fender clips that don't get replaced during the liner install.

Huh. I guess it’s not just the RC inners that look unfinished. Thanks for the info on the AAL fender clips. I think that’ll help clean up the look of mine.

AAL gives the finish options of bare aluminum, satin black powder coated, gloss black powder coated, and a textured black. I opted for satin black, because I didn't want them to stand out. I like that they aren't vented, so will actually work as intended. And their logo is more understated, but is detachable if you want it finished to match our accent your jeep. I left mine in bare aluminum.

I'm running Nemesis inner fenders front and rear. I went to their outer fenders to run 40's. Went with their inner fenders to clean everything up. I really like them.

AAL offers the option of having them handle the powder coating. It costs more and adds extra time before getting shipped out. I did that.
