Not surprising since there have been a growing number of steering complaints with the JL. Always funny when companies state vehicles have gone through millions upon millions of test miles yet stuff always comes up.

So yeah, making modern vehicles is NOT easy! So many things can cause recalls, from faulty 3rd party parts to funky welds, to etc etc... Funny thing is that issues are rarely due to engineering but most often from manufacturing.

Luckily this will be fixed too and future JL owners will benefit.

So far I've lucked out, having got a manual, and my VIN doesn't populate on any of the above recalls. I will say that the steering on JL seems a little loose compared to the JK, but I figured this was because of bigger tires, but maybe it's because of the steering shaft... I will follow this closely.

I'm new to recalls. Will I be contacted if my JL is affected? Or, do I need to do something like ... search my VIN on a list or take my JL to a dealer for inspection?

They are required to notify you. However, it would behoove you to go ahead and register and log on to the mopar.com website regularly. They have a prominent section on the main page stating the status of any recalls for YOUR specific Jeep.
