somewhat glad to see that I am not the only one that has this problem. Mine came of on the passenger side. Dealership has ordered a replacement window and said 2 month wait. now I know why there is 2 month wait.

I have been waiting on my new glass since Jan 2019. They are making excuses like they have to fix the new ones before they fix the ones they have sold. This is crap. I bought my JL in March of 2018. They say it should be in before the end of the month. If not, I have to figure out what my options of recourse are.

Mine is broken also. I bought the Frost Fighter kit as I'd rather not just replace it with new glass that likely has the same defect (not sure if the defect is in design or manufacturing.) Jeep should just send these kits out to anyone who calls about it and wants one. I'm sure they could get them for far less than the $40 I spent.

Has anyone tried to repair the window defroster with conductive silver epoxy? There are several brands that are available. Years ago, I repaired the connection on a rear window defroster.

@JeepCares I just got back from my dealership. Flemington Jeep in Flemington NJ. They were supposed to fix my rear window defroster via the TSB. They told me nobody has the epoxy required for the repair and did NOT complete the repair. They said they need to replace the entire rear window which has been on backorder for me since February. Why create a TSB that requires parts that dealerships don't have? HELP!
This happened to me as well here in Massachusetts. Been waiting for months for a replacement glass. I then noticed the TSB and called the dealer. Been a few weeks and they still canā€™t get the repair kit. Whatā€™s the point of the TSB then.

Mine was just fixed with the "repair kit" after a few months of waiting. Now that the weather is warm and I have no use for it till next year, they've fixed it.
I don't know what that entails, and it is not the prettiest repair, but it looks to be re-connected.

Mine was repaired today using the recent TSB. They did not replace the window and took less than an hour. The TSB fix is done with a silver compound and heat gun. The same solution as the Frost Fighter fix that was mentioned here.

Just got an update from customer service, they are saying June 18th and thats why the dealer wouldn't say. Customer service wants to close the case due to the fact that there was also a speaker cover on back order that is now in even though the window is not.
Called the dealership today for an update as they told me mid may and jeepcares said mid June. Well now I have to bring it in and leave it so they do the new factory repair kit first. So I am no longer in line for a new rear window.

Anybody have this happen yet or am I just lucky? JLUS rear window defroster came unsoldered already, 4 months 2600 miles, very little off road? Rear window raised maybe dozen times at most, seems like a short life solder!!

Had it happen on my 2012 JKUS but at 50k and lots of off road!! Pain in the butt, dealer tried to re solder, crap job. Found a kit for repair with some kind of electrical epoxy compound, worked better but tricky.

Go Jeep!!!
Near 10K miles, got it last August, just found it hanging today, specifically the passenger side cable. Glad and not glad to see this is a common issue, hope to get this fixed soon under warranty.
