I followed @00Sebby idea and pulled a wire tie snug after I introduced some slack in the repair the dealer made yesterday, I did notice that the wire connector moves around on the window button connector and from my understanding it’s supposed to do that, my warranty is almost up on my JL ( few more months ) so after that repairs are on me and if it comes off again I will order the frost biter 2000 kit along with a new button connector

Well I just joined the club, noticed mine was detached on the passenger side and the solder job looks week..

Service Advisor said tech will determine if he can solder but said lots of times they have replaced the back glass, last few months of my warranty left on my 2018 so glad it’s covered, guessing the solder jobs are hit and miss on fixing this ?

Well as usual they had my JL all day, I dropped it off at 08:30 and they called at 16:30 to tell me it was done....it was repaired and hoping it works but here in south Texas it rarely gets used so time will tell.

Lucky me...mine just detached a couple of days ago or at least just noticed it was detached!!!

Jeep Cares - Is this just take it in or does something need to be sent to the dealer so they don't have my Jeep for another week again! The last recall and oil change caused me to be without it for 6 days!

Please help!

Seems like most Dealer Service Centers can’t do anything in a timely manor, I took my JL in awhile back and it took them two days to do a oil change and replace the main battery after it failed a load test and I recently had my defroster repaired and it took from open till close to get it fixed, not sure how other makers handle warranty repairs but I may find out when the Ford Bronco comes out :jk:

Ex-auto quality engr & mgt. Now just enjoy life.
Did you have to pop the glass bonding tab out of the connector and then snap it back on after using the epoxy on it.
I did pop the little tab out for the repair. However, I didn't use epoxy. I used silver electronics solder, a butane soldering iron and soldered the tab back to the window. Risky because the glass gets very hot and could easily shatter, but it holds much better. Once the tab was soldered back in place I plugged the connector back on to it.

I believe the dealer used the Frostfighter 2000 epoxy which is suppose to have a high silver content and the tech actually did a very clean job and did not glob it on but we will see how it holds, here in south Texas it does not get used much

Hi Richard,
Your dealer is in the best position to answer that question. If you need additional assistance after your appointment has been scheduled, we can connect you with a Case Specialist to work with you and your dealer throughout the repair process. Our team is available via PM.

Well, add me to the "Popped Defroster Cable Club". I've had the JL 1 yr and 10 months.
Reading these posts does not give me much hope. I can't decide if I want to risk letting the dealer screw with it, or just epoxy it myself. I don't want them to have it for.several hours, only to have it fail, shortly.after.getting it back.
Any new thoughts on longterm fixes??

Just had mine repaired for the 3rd time. This time they left it disconnected for me to snap back on later. I like the zip tie idea as the is exactly what seems wrong.

So far mine is still attached, using the zip tie I think help as it keep the tension off the cable. I have used it a few times just to clear the fog off the back window but here in south tx we don’t get much frost, snow or ice but in a few years when I retire and head back to the Midwest it will get used more

I used this epoxy rather than dealing with the dealer. So far so good. Fingers crossed that it holds for a while Permatex 21351 Electrically Conductive Rear Window Defogger Tab Adhesive, Single Unit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000HBGKWE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_cGliFb9GPDN14

Mine 6th time fix work for 3 month broke again. Lol to the dealer again I go.

Is there a permanent fix?
Mine is a 2018, how long this will still be able to fix under warranty?
What happen if keep happening after warranty is done knowing it has been fix 6+ time already?
