I ended up repairing the second glass with some conductive epoxy. Fix was easy and the hold seems to be more sturdy. 3 months and still holding strong. I'll go this route until there's a better fix.
I'm sorry but I had to laugh. Isn't it funny when we're talking about 3 months and something is still working like it should like we're impressed lol. I was thinking of putting something around the defroster almost like a glue/apoxy when I get the new one to try to see if it'll get it to hold longer

Unfortunately I just joined the club! Not even 1800 miles on the JL and there it is just dangling! Lol this is one club I was hoping not to join!

I had mine replaced at the 6k oil change. Looked back in the rear view mirror today and noticed it dangling again. 2500 miles later. This will be my second glass. I hope they find a fix! @JeepCares

Iā€™m now in the two time rear window replacement club. I donā€™t understand how they canā€™t seem to get this right. I honestly hope this cable holds, the last cable gave out about one month after being replaced.

I joined the club (exclusive membership). Window ordered..So much for my decals on the glass. Way to many problems for me. I think it's trade-in time. Two new batteries, Seat latch busted, Homelink issues, frame recall inspection and rear defrost...7500 miles and these problems.

Well, I have an apt to have the dealership evaluate this. I'm torn on what I want them to do. I have extra tent on her, I hope I don't have to replace the glass two often.

I've posted this before on here, if you want a more permanent fix, put a dab of glue (hot glue is what I used) on the defroster cable inside the clip that is just before the tab. This keeps it from pulling on the soldered connection every time you raise/lower the window and has kept my fix in place so far for several months (I used some of the conductive epoxy off of Amazon).

Beware that if you attempt a fix yourself your dealer may not be willing to perform any warranty work on the window in the future.
I agree, this is definitely something to check with your dealer first! I asked this before attempting to fix myself since I did not want my entire window replaced and luckily they said no problem at all they would still do the repair if my attempt failed.

Will Jeep cover the cost to get the tint replaced?

They will replace it with a window identical to what was installed at the factory. If you had it tinted after you bought it then you'll have to pay to get the new one tinted.
