My wife has a 2020 Willys and I just ordered my 2021 Willys. Her license plate keeps coming loose. I don’t plan on upgrading bumpers soon. Does anyone have tips on a better attachment for the plates on stock bumpers. I was thinking of adding the standard push in plate connections you get when you buy new license plate screws. I’d have to drill a larger hole which I’m not worried about but I think the bumper is too thick for the attachments to actually grab. I’m not looking to relocate at this time either.

I added those push in connections (bought a 2 pack from Lowes) due to the exact same issue. Works fine and the rear plate stays nice and tight now. Easy and simple to do, just take your time with a drill bit and ensure you don't enlarge the hole too much.

Do you remember what size drill bit?

No, just grabbed one which was larger than the hole and moved it around to make a square(ish) opening. Test fit the insert and adjusted the opening as needed. I used a small mallet to tap the insert in. It didn't take but 5 minutes.

A Dremel with a cutting head would work really well (at low RPM), but I didn't have one.

I got it. Just kept going one size larger until it for. Pushed in by hand. Worked perfectly.
