My passenger side front suspension is really creaky when articulating over modest bumps. Driveway approaches and my alley way are when you can really hear it because the jeep is rocking a lot. I have a 2.5" Rough Country lift springs and Fox 2.0 shocks. Any prime suspects? Can it be from a bushing?

Following this - my JLUR with 8800 miles starting making creaking noises last week, especially at low speeds, corners or on banked surfaces. Stock Jeep and only added a front diff skid plate recently but ruled that out for anything making creaking noises.

I’d start by slightly loosening (not all the way) all control arm fasteners and retorquing them while the Jeep is flat on level ground. Might fix it, might not but it’s quick and free to try.

Creaking suspension on a Jeep is perfectly normal.

Take it off road and flex it a little and you'd think something is about to snap.

Apply some lithium grease at key points(lightly apply!)..spray is easier

Will help squeaking if not get rid of

I agree with this strategy. I'd also include the track bars. When I had suspension noises on my 2015 JK, it seemed to always be the front track bar. Loosening and re-tightening usually fixed it, along with some silicone spray. Thankfully my JL is quiet so far.

Edit: Also check your sway bar end links. They can make noise also.

I’ve had my sway bar end links come lose several times on my JKU and once on my JLU. That will make noises if you hit and bump at an angle. As everyone said above, re torque everything and it will probably go away. Also check you bolts on any steps or rock sliders, sometimes they rub and make noise if they are lose.

I'm taking my JLUR into the dealership tomorrow to address my issues. I get some creaking only when going from a stop to moving forward. The noise disappears once I'm moving over 2-3 mph. I also hear noises when driving over raised surface like a slanted driveway etc... It sounds like coil springs or bushings in steering components. I torqued down everything so I ruled out any loose nuts.

Hi jayteal,
We understand why this may be frustrating. If you would like any additional assistance while working with your dealer to address this, please send our team a private message!

Well my creaking noises are fixed, apparently my recent off roading tweaked a couple of the skid plates to where they were slightly misaligned and making some groaning noises when driving. No suspension problems and the dealer made sure all steering and suspension components were torqued properly. Not covered under warranty obviously but the dealer was reasonable for what they charged. All in all a good lesson to learn that after off roading, check to make sure skid plates haven't shifted around a bit.

Mine has recently started doing the same thing. Did you ever figure out what it was or if it is just normal?

I just bought my new JL Rubicon about 3 weeks ago. I have about 2,500 miles on it and from the first day I bought it. I have also experience cracking noises. I am not sure if it is from my shocks, springs, or suspension. I am hoping that its just because its new but im not sure. I don't have a lift kit on it or anything. Everything is still stock.

I've been dealing with noises myself. Two of them. The rear noise was determined to be a the rear sway bar frame mount (rubber bushing). Pulled both of them and added marine grease but it still wants to make noise. Replacing those rubber bushings with poly and we'll see if that changes it.

The front noise was sway bar end link related, driver's side upper end is broken (the nut spins the whole shaft). New sway bar end links from Steer Smarts will fix that nonsense.

Poly tends to be even more noisy and will need it's own grease. ;)
