OK. There is all kinds of discussion of windshields chipping and cracking. This thread is not meant to be a general discussion of all of the things related to that.

What I would like to find is people who have installed the Gorilla Glass in their JK and could share their real-world experience with it. Does it look different structurally? Does it make things look different when viewed through it? Most importantly, do you feel at this point that you can tell whether it actually has made a difference in terms of chips/cracking?

(My current understanding is that the Gorilla Glass product has been available only for the JK, not the JL, and only for a pretty limited amount of time. And maybe also only through limited channels and in limited quantities, but frankly I can't tell.)

going to bump this one up, and see if there's any reviews now that these have been in the wild for a bit. In Colorado, I've averaged about 6mo before needing windshield replaced, usually with repairs about every 2mo. If the gorilla glass can hold up, I might consider going with the advanced safety group that has the adaptive cruise control, as the repair costs i've seen on recalibrating those sensors on the standard windshield would be cost prohibitive given my burn through rate.

Interestingly last week my daughter has a 2010 JK and our insurance replaced her cracked (non-factory) windshield with the Gorilla Glass OEM replacement. Probably that's the only option with OEM glass with the JK? No charge per our insurance claim.

It’s no better than the regular glass is what I’m coming to find. It may even be worse. Only had my JL with the GG for 4 weeks (brand new) and it split for no reason. Just a big old crack. They claim it is covered by a 2yr limited warranty however I am fighting with all of the dealers around me currently who claim “there is know additional coverage” for the GG windshields… save your money….

I ordered my 2022 JLURD with everything except the sky roof. The up charge for GG was $400. She arrived missing the cigarette lighter and GG. Was told it was not available and 1.5yrs later it hasn't been replaced.
