Now that I've looked into it, that's a great way to learn the basics, just can't swing it this Saturday. Maybe in the fall or next spring?

I will be at this class. I agree it looks like a good class. Will report back with my thoughts.
Please do. I've never gone wheeling before, and my son and I want to hit the trails with my Wrangler and eventually his Liberty after we get a lift and some tires under it. He's 16 and been bitten hard by the Jeep bug!

this will only be my 2nd time off-road with my jeep, but I think I have been bitten by the Jeep bug also.

I took this class when I had my old JK. It was a great experience. It's aimed at beginners. They take you through a wide variety of different obstacles to show how your Jeep handles each one. A stock Wrangler will handle it all just fine.
My only real concern is that I have 35's on stock wheels and suspension with 1.5" Bora wheel spacers, so I know I'm going to rub, but the question is how bad :surprised:

I really liked this class. It goes over the basics and is about getting you familiar and comfortable with what your Jeep is capable of. It’s for obvious reasons all green trails that any stock vehicle would be able to handle. There was even a tacoma and (3) 4 Runners in the class.

There was one section we went up to show us how the traction control would kick in and how it works. I can say that without an instructor standing there and telling you where to go, there would be a lot of people that if they came to this section on their own they would never believe their Jeep could make it up and would try to find another way.

This picture unfortunately does no justice for how steep this hill was. This was where they went over using hill decent. We went down on the trail on the right with hill decent.

So my fears of rubbing were just that...... fears. I didn’t have rubbing at all the whole time with stock suspension and 35” tires and 1.5” bora wheel spacers. So after we were done I drove up on the ramp to see how much flex I could get before rubbing.

It is definitely worth taking the class . I did the 201 today and it gets way better there! You really see how much more you can push your vehicle. I highly recommend you checking that out too

ugh, i was hoping to not spend money on the 201 class lol. Obviously I don't have to but after seeing the benefit of the 101 class I will probably do the 201 also.

Was it still all green trails? Any easier blue trails?
