@chevymitchell, @conFUcius, and I made the 800 mile round trip from North Carolina to Rausch Creek this weekend. @conFUcius got an earlier start and hit Peters Mill Run on the way up.

We arrived at the park about noon on Friday, got our passes, aired down and hit the trails. We ran into a couple from NC that had snapped a rear axle shaft. They needed help getting the axle off the tires. After lending a hand, we ran Crawler Ridge. I don’t remember the other trails we ran on Friday.

Saturday, we ran Crawl Daddy, Trail 11, Trail 20, Beaver Creek, and several others.

Rausch Creek is probably my favorite park that I’ve been to. With that said, the green and blue trails didn’t provide any challenges, although the off camber section on Trail J was pretty intense (29 degree roll to the passenger side). The black trails were perfect for our group. They required you to pick your line and have good tire placement.

Overall, it was a great weekend of wheeling with better friends

I’m sure @chevymitchell and @conFUcius will add more pictures and their perspective as well.

As @UNC Rubicon said, great time out with him and @chevymitchell. With great spotters, able to build up more confidence and only had to winch once.

@chevymitchell wondering WTH I did here and how to get me out before we decided to pull the winch (this was probably less than 15 mins into the park :giggle:)...

@chevymitchell taking a very challenging line Crawler’s Ridge to add some personalization to his wheels...

There was a unanimous consensus that none of use were driving through this trail...

Beaver Creek was a lot of fun; very technical slow crawling but I learned a lot. We only got to complete 50% because we were running out of daylight.

Definitely want to go back!

Let me know when you guys are heading up, always happy to meet new folks and make it up to Rausch. Hit me up!

We usually try to plan open club rides up to Rausch, AOAA, or other closer parks like The Cove or Choas in West VA.

Yeah, don't forget to post trips to RC, AOAA, and Famous Reading on the Mid-Atlantic PA thread. We can get a bunch of people from the forum to meet up and ride some trails and grab something to eat!

I completely forgot to post a thread prior to us going. I’m usually pretty good about remembering to do stuff like that. Ah well, there’s always next time.

Retired from Corrections....I have stories.
Rausch Creek is my favorite off road park east of the Mississippi.
Nice run. It a great place to wheel with something for a every one. I also though all the trails were marked great and the downloadable map was spot on.

I told Shawn pretty much the same thing. I’ve been to URE, Windrock, Stony Lonesome, and Beasley Knob and, while they are all fun, none compare to RC. The only downside is the cost. It would be really expensive to wheel there regularly.

Rausch is great. There's an ATV park in the next valley north, also named Rausch Creek (no relation I understand).
