Anybody else have an issue with "Service Axle Locker System" warning coming on then off after a few seconds?

Mostly happens while off-roading of uneven terrain, but lately it shows up sometimes in 2Hi when staring out on streets.

Took it to the dealer and they cleared the stored codes and went through the checklist, but didn't solve the issue. I'm taking it back next week but i'm not hopeful they will find it :(
If I could reliably reproduce the issue maybe they could dig in deeper.

Anybody know of any service bulletins that might relate this this?

@JeepCares or anybody? I'm doing the Rubicon on 9/3 and would like to get the lockers solid before heading out!

Update its fixed! :like:

If anybody has this issue in the future the dealer installed a new drive train control module and a new transfer case control module. Not sure what one fixed the issue but its gone! I think they got tired of me returning the Jeep and threw everything they could at the issue.

Rubicon trail here I come next week!

I am having the same issue.
Bummer Jeff, hopefully you can get yours fixed quicker that mine :) Three times to the dealer before they finally fixed it. I have a feeling it was the drive train control module. I found other threads in JK forums having locker warnings due to that. Seems like very few JL have the issue though.

good luck! :fingerscrossed:

The dealership is telling me that I need a new axle and it won't be in until the end of September early October. So I will not have my Jeep for the whole month.

I had this show up 2 different times. First time, they done the axle swap thing. A few weeks later, it showed up again, same as before and they found a wire that was rubbing on a bolt somewhere inside the cab by the passenger rear wheel. They claimed to have repaired the wire and fastened it down to keep it from rubbing any more.

Me personally, I don't think the axle swap done anything...at least in my case. I think it was the wire that caused the problem both times but since they had an easy out (replace the rear axle), they went with that first.

All i am saying here is don't be surprised if the problem presents itself again after the "repairs". And if it does, have them check the wiring to the rear axle.

That seems extreme for a intermittent warning. I agree with @JoeValkIS it sounds electrical in nature. At least for me the module changes fixed it, but in the work of that they could have fixed a wiring issue too
FWIW my issue was the front locker from what the dealer told me.

Jeff do you have a lift? I have a 2.5" lift and when my rear axel is fully drooped the locker wires to the diff was very taunt. I didn't notice it till I had it up on a lift last week. Maybe something to check.

Mine pops on intermittently for a few seconds and then turns off. I chalk it up to a dirty or wet connector for the sensors, but since it hasn't prevented me from wheeling yet, I haven't looked into it. It has only happened in the short period after I've been off road in mud or water.

Thats exactly when mine started. Wheeling in the mud/water.
Mine still warned long after it dried out though, and since i was doing the Rubicon I didn't want to take the chance it might completely fail in the middle of the trail

Sorry for the late reply, but I was able to drive mine and use the lockers for about 1.5 months before the dealer figured it out. Hope you got yours fixed!
