I'm getting ready to buy sway bar disconnect links and there are three choices on the market. I have JKS on my TJ so I can see that they are very solid. Anyone have an opinion on which brand is best/ version is best?
JKS is the only one where you have to cut the outer tab on the passenger side of the axle to mount them. Not a big fan of that idea.

Been looking into this also. I like the idea of a pin to hold the link when disconnected rather than a strap with the RK set. But with the other two you'll have to disconnect both sides first, hang one link and then go back to the first side to hang the other link. Just an extra step, unless you get lucky and it's sitting at the right spot to where they will slip on the first time you try even with the other side still connected. That said I think I like the Rancho set not having to cut the axle tab.

I probably won't work, but I'm thinking about trying a ghetto approach. Since the lower link is a through bolt, why not replace it with a removable hitch pin? It will have to be a perfect fit or you'll get clunking and it will oval out your bracket holes. But if it's a tight fit, it might work. I'm thinking of getting a couple of grade 8 bolts with shanks long enough to go all the way though the tabs, cut the threads off, drill a hole for hairpin lock and weld a loop on the bolt head so you can pull it out. Heck, if it doesn't work that great, it's simple enough that I could swap the stock bolts to the pins at home before I go on a ride and then just pull the pins when I get there. (At lease you won't be "that guy" they have to wait for while you're getting tools out to disconnect)

I can't speak to the JKS but the Rock Krawlers are tough to slide off the lower link even on level pavement. I've had to beat on them with the heel of my hand to inch them off. As suggested I'm going to start carrying a spray can of white lithium grease.

Ive had the jks on for about 4000 miles now, had no issues with them, love how easy they are to take off and put of. Sometimes it takes a little body rocking with my back to slide off but never too bad. Have not had any abnormal noise out of them, i do grease them periodically to help. When they disconnect i like the fact that it came with a perch to put them up out of the way with the pin. They work perfect in my opinion.

I’d have to agree. I have had mine for about 9000 miles and I’ve had no issue. They are very easy to pop on and off. If on a hill you may need to rock it a little to pop one side off. Other than that no issues. I also grease them occasionally.

You could make your own too. I used a homemade set I ran on my jku the whole time I owned it and they worked great.

im looking at getting a set. was pretty much set on the JKS till i saw you have to cut a tab on the axle. wasnt really looking to do any permanent modifications and that's pretty permanent. once you go JKS, there's no going back lol.
