Rancho Steering Stabilizer Install Questions

So finally received this after 3 month backordered. Easy install luckily becuase it comes with no instructions and there’s nothing on the interweb.

Two questions. on the end closest to the wheel , whereupon run the stock bolt through, there’s a lip (see arrows) I don’t know the reason for this but hoped I installed it correctly.
One other stupid question, the boot comes with a zip tie , how exactly are you suppose to install this? Just wrap the zip tie around anywhere?

Not sure about the lip, I leave that for Rancho, but zip tie the boot at the end of the shock body on the flat spot to keep it from pushing down the shock.

I installed mine the opposite of yours that matched the factory positioning. Does it matter which way it is installed?
