Thank you so much!!! I like the straps. No chance of damaging the top system, you think? I’ll never run with the top completely removed. Less manipulation = less risk of damage, therefore I’ll never hook up this tonneau to the tailgate bar. I guess I’ll go With the GPCA model, even if it does cover as good, since that 10 in. that people complain about will be taken by the folded roof. I’m not looking for weather protection, but to hide sutff from prying eyes while stopping somewhere for a short time.Here it is with cover completely on. Here are some older pictures, first shows back part of cover unattached and stuffed in the tub, second pic shows the top completely down and locked. I run both ways, but mostly with the cover on and strapped because it's a little easier.

CJ's also has the tailgate bar by Bestop. That should be interchangeable with the factory one in terms of using it with the tonneau cover, no? Or is there something proprietary about their bar?
Technically it you do need the bar but, you can probably get away without it.

The bar and end caps are probably not to expensive. There are posts earlier in this thread that say the JK bar works ( which would/should be cheap ). The end caps can’t be too much. I can tell you with the bar it’s a super tight fit.
